Karachi: K-Electric has exempted the whole area of Timber Market Lyari from load-shed. This will ensure consistent commercial activity in Lyari, bringing numerous economic benefits to the business community, as well as improving the quality of life for the residential consumers.
Due to the infrastructure developments in the important commercial areas of the city, such as; Lyari Timber market, Landhi Babar Market, Saddar Cooperative Market, Shoe-Market and Boulton Market areas, the power supply situation has greatly improved in all these areas, having a very positive impact on the businesses and commercial ventures.
The Chief Operating Officer of Distribution at K-Electric – Mr. Asif Saad said, “Such great appreciation received from the consumers of Lyari will go a long way in helping KE improve slightly underprivileged communities such as Lyari. It will also inspire our teams to ensure that the ongoing Project Ujala remains in full swing in other areas of the metropolitan city in which K-Electric is continuously installing Aerial Bundled Cables to reduce losses, theft and eventually load-shed.”
K-Electric’s spokesperson stated that; “As part of KE’s Ujala campaign, many infrastructure upgrades are being made all over Karachi, including installation of ‘Aerial Bundled Cables’ and many new PMTs, to make the supply of electricity more reliable and ensure more vibrant commercial activities in the city.”
So far, more than 240 communities have been engaged and more than 5,500 PMTs have been converted to ABC, positively impacting almost 3 million lives. Select areas of Saddar, Lines area, Liaquatabad, Ghazdarabad, Rehmat Chowk, Altaf Town and Keamari, are now free of power-theft.
