HEC hosted a meeting between a delegation from Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), Germany, and representatives from Pakistani universities to explore transformative research partnerships. Chaired by Executive Director HEC Dr. Zia ul Haq, the session aimed to identify concrete avenues for academic exchange in high-impact fields such as neuroscience, energy, information technology, and health research.
During the session, Dr. Nadeem Joni Shah, Director at FZJ, showcased the center’s cutting-edge work and highlighted opportunities under the Horizon 2020 framework to address major societal challenges.
Member (HRD) HEC Engr. Muhammad Raza Chohan reaffirmed HEC’s commitment to facilitating these joint endeavors through models like Transnational Education.
Member (S&T), Planning Commission, Dr. Najeebullah Marwat discussed the government’s strategic shift toward funding technological infrastructure and internationalizing Pakistan’s research ecosystem.
The universities representatives expressed keen interest in the opportunities and the prospects of joint academic and research efforts with FZJ.
