Samsung showcases its new Flex Titanium display technology for future Galaxy foldable smartphones.

Flex Titanium is Samsung Electronics’ latest display innovation designed for the next generation of Galaxy foldable smartphones. The company unveiled the new technology on Wednesday, saying it delivers a stronger, slimmer, and more immersive foldable display with significantly reduced crease visibility.

Built on seven generations of Galaxy foldable development, Flex Titanium combines advanced materials with a redesigned display structure to improve durability without sacrificing flexibility or portability.

Samsung said the new technology integrates two titanium-based components—a titanium-alloy film and a titanium plate—that work together to strengthen the foldable display while maintaining a thin profile.

According to Sunghoon Moon, Executive Vice President and Senior Executive of Samsung Electronics’ Mobile R&D Office, the company continues to develop foldable technology by combining engineering innovation with user needs.

Samsung explained that years of customer feedback helped shape the new display design. Users consistently asked for larger displays, less visible creases, and stronger durability while keeping devices lightweight and easy to carry.

The titanium-alloy film sits beneath the OLED panel and provides mechanical stiffness that Samsung says is 20 times greater than conventional polymer film. A precision rolling process reduces its thickness to roughly one-third the width of a human hair, allowing Samsung to create a slimmer display.

The second component, a titanium plate beneath the display module, strengthens the structure while preserving flexibility. Samsung said advanced hole-processing technology improves bonding between display layers, increases structural stability, and supports repeated folding over long-term use.

The company also introduced a high-resolution display architecture and next-generation organic materials. Samsung said these improvements enhance image quality while lowering power consumption, resulting in greater energy efficiency.

Kyung-Jin Yoo, Executive Vice President and Head of Samsung Display’s Mobile Display Product Development Team, said the new titanium plate design provides strong durability without reducing flexibility. He added that the upgraded display architecture will strengthen Samsung’s leadership in foldable smartphones.

Samsung said Flex Titanium will make its debut in the company’s next-generation Galaxy foldable devices. The company plans to reveal additional product details during its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.

The announcement reinforces Samsung’s strategy to maintain its leadership in the foldable smartphone market through continuous display innovation and advanced engineering.
