?KARACHI – April 7, 2026: Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, conducted a high-profile visit to the National Highway Authority (NHA) Regional Office in Karachi today. Presiding over a high-level review meeting, the Minister was briefed extensively on the status of infrastructure projects across the Sindh region, focusing on removing administrative bottlenecks and addressing security concerns to ensure smooth operations.
The Minister issued categorical directives to expedite all stalled projects, emphasizing that delays will no longer be tolerated. A comprehensive review was conducted for several key arteries, including the N-120, N-110, N-5, N-55, and the M-6 motorway. Significant decisions were also finalized regarding the structural repair and expansion of bridges, alongside a strategic review of toll tax collection systems to ensure better resource management.
There will be no compromise on the quality and transparency of construction,” Abdul Aleem Khan stated during the session. He further announced the formation of specialized teams dedicated to resolving specific highway issues within Sindh. To ensure a seamless travel experience for the public, the Minister directed that all future toll plazas in the province must follow a strictly uniform design and structural layout.
In a move to boost morale and productivity, the Minister announced that NHA employees who exceed annual revenue targets and meet project milestones will receive special incentives. However, he balanced this with a call for fiscal responsibility, directing the General Manager ( M &I) to submit weekly reports to prioritize restoration work and eliminate unnecessary expenditures.
Concluding the visit, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing world-class travel facilities. He noted that the procurement process and contract formatting for the M-6 motorway are being streamlined to ensure the highest standards of service. “We will leave no stone unturned in serving the public,” the Minister remarked, highlighting that accountability and efficiency are the benchmarks for the NHA.
