KARACHI – President Dr Arif Alvi has said that Pakistan is at the tipping point to progress as all indicators are showing positive trajectory.
Addressing a ceremony held in connection with screening of docudrama “Paani Key Pankh” in Karachi, he stressed the need for using water carefully.
The President said construction of dams is need of the hour keeping in view needs of the country.
He said that the federal government has planned to provide water to Karachitis and expressed the hope that K-VI project would help reduce the difficulties of the citizens in term of water.
Dr Arif Alvi said that the docu-drama “Paani Key Pankh” which is about Mohmand Dam reflects two facets; one is how the country fought war on terrorism and restored peace and second one is about the importance of water.
The President also lauded the sacrifices of Pakistan Army in the war against terrorism.
Dr Arif Alvi said Pakistan is progressing and now we have relations with the United States and other countries on the basis of trade instead of aid.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda also spoke on the occasion.
