Sukkur June 2024: Special guest of the event and former federal minister MNA Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah while talking to the foundation stone laying ceremony of Sukkur Industrial Enclave at IBA University said that it was a great pleasure to lay the foundation of Sukkur Industrial Enclave here.This project will be a game changer for the entire region. He said that the country that has technical people will never die of hunger, we have to produce technical people in the country, our country is rich in natural resources and it is our failure not to get benefit from it. There is a dire need to work in the fields of environment, health and education in the country. The education system of Pakistan is old, now it should be changed.

He said that there should be institutes like IBA, Art and Design in the country so that children do not go anywhere for a job after completing their degree. He said that our country will not need to go to the IMF if our youth go abroad for technical job purposes.The federal minister said that Sukkur is very important for investment, but unfortunately there are no Motorway roads in Sindh and Balochistan yet. The former federal minister said that the third cheapest electricity in the world is obtained from coal, coal is available here for at least 2 centuries and the politicians must think of it. Addressing the ceremony, the board member of Sindh Economic Zone Management Company Qasim Naveed Qamar said that the former federal minister MNA Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah had made a lot of efforts to get start this project.

He said that if you support your future, industry is very important. This project has been designed in such a way that we can get maximum benefit from it. All the stakeholders have to work together for the betterment of Sukkur. On this occasion, Chief Operating Officer of Sindh Economic Zones Management Company, Abdul Azeem Uqaili while briefing said that the location of this project is very good, it will also benefit for the domestic market of Pakistan. Sukkur Industrial Enclave project will work on public private partnership mode, about 25,000 jobs will be created directly and indirectly from this project, vocational training center will also be a part of the project. The master plan of this project is also being worked on, where all the stakeholders will also be invited.

A comprehensive strategy will be formulated on the issue of law and order situation, where it will be looked at as far as possible. On this occasion, Hassan Bilgrami CEO of Bio Masdar Private Limited said that after a practical review of the different zones of Pakistan, it was decided that Khairpur is the best place for the economic zone, the location of the city is very important where jobs are generated by the establishment of industries. Speaking at the ceremony, former president of Sukkur Chamber of Commerce Aamir Ghori said that today is a memorable day for the history of Sukkur.The former federal minister MNA Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah has made a lot of efforts in its establishment.

Sindh government deserves congratulations for laying the foundation stone of Sukkur Industrial Enclave.It is the joint responsibility of all the stakeholders to make this project successful and it is everyone’s wish that Sukkur be given a dry port and the security system should also be improved. Before this, former Federal Minister MNA Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah also laid the foundation stone of Sukkur Industrial Enclave spread over 400 acres of land under public-private partnership at SITE near Arorr University. On this occasion, Sindh Economic Zones Management Company CTO Farid Ahmad Sheikh, Commissioner Sukkur Division Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi, DC Sukkur Dr. MB Raja Dharejo, AC Rohri, Project Manager Naeem Sheikh, Marketing Head Hamad Shams, VC of Sukkur IBA University and other relevant officers were also presented.

Prime Minister Imran Khan visited National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) for COVID-19 in Islamabad today (Thursday). Army Chief was also present at the occasion. Apart from federal ministers, Prime Minister AJ &K, Chief Minister Punjab, Chief Minister Sindh, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister Balochistan and Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan attended the meeting via video link. Prime Minister was briefed by Federal Minister Asad Umar and Major General Asif Mehmood Goraya, DG Operations & Planning NCOC on the analysis of patterns of COVID-19 spread, pressure on hospitals, fatalities, and future Projections. PM was also briefed on the steps taken so far regarding curtailing the spread of COVID-19 across the country, enforcement of SOPs, and strategy regarding the management of disease and implementation of decisions in coordination with all the stakeholders. On the occasion, the Prime Minister Imran Khan directed that all out efforts must remain focused on controlling the disease spread. He asked to ensure availability of medicines, oxygen and beds in hospitals. Imran Khan urged complete unity amongst entire nation to fight an unusual and ominous challenge. PM also directed all Pakistanis to protect the elderly and sick especially those suffering from Heart related diseases and Diabetes. The Prime Minister, while lauding the role of NCOC, said Pakistan has navigated COVID-19 in a balanced manner. However, he cautioned everyone for utmost care. We need a unified and well-coordinated joint national response to fight the disease during the next couple of months; our actions will determine the extent of the crisis and success of our response through consensus, stated the Prime Minister. Imran Khan, while paying tributes to the sacrifices of healthcare workers, said they are doing us proud at this critical juncture and the entire nation recognises their contribution. He said that media has performed responsibly , any tendency to sensationalise must be self-checked by them. Meanwhile, the participants were especially apprised of the gaps identified and measures being taken for improvement in the healthcare system of the country to cope with the challenge, capacity building of the healthcare professionals, increased availability of beds for the patients, uninterrupted availability of crucial medicines, and sufficient supplies of oxygen. The participants through a consensus resolved to continue the strategy of balance between life and livelihood being pursued. It was reiterated that while businesses must remain open, strict implementation of SOPs will be ensured through awareness and administrative actions. Smart lock downs in hot spots identified through use of technology tools recently deployed and developed by NCOC will be ensured. The forum was also briefed on the use of digital technology for contact tracing and disease projection. It was informed that during the last four days, there is a decline in the number of cases tested positive. Chief Ministers of all the provinces and Prime Minister AJ&K briefed the forum about the steps being taken in their respective areas and unanimously acknowledged the support provided by the Federal Government in all respects.
