Corona virus: the whole pandemic and effects.

Corona Virus is a group of related RNA viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. They cause respiratory tract infection in humans and birds that can range from mild to lethal. Mild illness includes common cold while lethal can cause SARS, MERS and COVID-19.

Classification of Corona virus is as follows:

Kingdom: Orthornavirae

Phylum: Pisuviricota

Class: Pisoniviricetes

Order: Nidovirales

Family: Coronaviridae

Subfamily: Orthocoronavirinae

The most common symptoms for Corona Virus are fever, dry cough and tiredness. Some of the symptoms are stated as less common symptoms and those are aches and pains, sore throat, diarrhea, headache, loss of taste or smell, a rash on skin and discoloration of fingers or toes.

This whole pandemic started in Pakistan on February 26, 2020, when two cases were confirmed of two students. One was in Karachi and was a student who had just returned from Iran and second one was in the Islamabad Capital territory. On March 18, 2020, cases had been registered in all of the four provinces of Pakistan and by June 17, each district of Pakistan at least recorded one case of COVID-19.

Pakistan has experienced three waves of COVID-19 until now. The first wave began in May 2020, second in November 2020 and the third in March 2021. The first wave is marked as having low death rates and passed very quickly after peaking. The second wave mainly affected the Sindh province of Pakistan and the third wave mainly affected Punjab and Khyber Pakhtun khwa. The third wave peaked in April 2020. But still, every day we came to know about many of the people dying due to Corona virus. People are guided to stay at home, wear masks and use sanitizers. Vaccines have been introduced but still 50% of the people are not getting vaccinated because of the myth; any of the person who will be vaccinated will die in two years.

Everything is almost wasted specially education; almost from 1.5 years school, colleges, universities are closed. We all are dealing with complete and smart lockdowns from a long time. We are still not getting rid of Corona Virus. People are now losing hopes; they are losing their loved ones day by day.

Still, while in this much pandemic and days of trouble our government wants our students to walk to their colleges or their examination centers and give papers. I have a question WHY? And most importantly how? How will they give their exams without studying? Was there any source of studying available for them? Each of the coaching, colleges were closed so from where they would’ve studied? And what’s the advantage of taking papers if we will lose our students. Government should have a look on this.
