China Appreciates Pakistan’s Diplomatic Role

BEIJING: Wang Yi urged Pakistan to strengthen mediation efforts and help address growing tensions related to the Strait of Hormuz, according to China’s state-run Xinhua news agency.

Iran Tightens Control Over Strait of Hormuz

Wang made the remarks during a telephone conversation with Ishaq Dar on Tuesday.

Pakistan’s Peace Efforts Receive Chinese Support

During the conversation, Wang praised Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement in facilitating communication between Iran and the United States.

He said Pakistan’s efforts helped extend a temporary ceasefire and reduce tensions in the Middle East.

Furthermore, Wang expressed hope that Pakistan would continue contributing to regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy.

According to the Chinese foreign minister, the international community also supports peaceful efforts to prevent further escalation.

Ishaq Dar Briefs China on Mediation Efforts

Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar informed Wang Yi about Pakistan’s recent diplomatic initiatives aimed at facilitating discussions between Iran and the United States.

He also thanked China for supporting Pakistan’s peace efforts in the region.

Dar expressed hope that Islamabad and Beijing would continue close coordination to maintain regional peace and stability.

China Reaffirms Support for Pakistan

At the same time, Wang reiterated China’s principled position regarding the conflict and praised Pakistan’s role in promoting dialogue.

He stated that Beijing would continue supporting Pakistan’s mediation efforts and contribute positively toward regional peace.

Both sides also discussed wider regional developments and emphasized the importance of uninterrupted maritime movement through the Strait of Hormuz.

Strait of Hormuz Remains Critical for Global Economy

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important energy routes because a large portion of global oil supplies passes through the waterway.

Therefore, rising tensions in the region have triggered serious concerns in international energy markets.

China and Pakistan stressed the importance of maintaining stability and ensuring secure maritime trade through the strategic passage.

China and Pakistan Review Bilateral Relations

During the discussion, both leaders also reviewed preparations for the upcoming 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.

They agreed to strengthen strategic communication, expand high-level exchanges, and deepen the long-standing all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.

In addition, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to closer coordination at the United Nations and other multilateral forums.

Dar Holds Separate Talks With Kuwait

Separately, Ishaq Dar also held a telephone conversation with Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Wednesday.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the Kuwaiti foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue between Iran and the United States.

He also praised the peace initiatives undertaken by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Peace

During the call, both ministers discussed the broader economic impact of tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.

Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting diplomatic solutions and maintaining regional stability.

He also emphasized Pakistan’s desire to continue close coordination with friendly countries, including Kuwait, on regional developments.

Political analysts believe Pakistan’s growing diplomatic engagement has increased its importance in regional peace efforts and international mediation initiatives.
