Lahore, January 22, 2025: The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority known as CBD Punjab proudly announces the inauguration of the Major Ishaq Shaheed Flyover marking a significant step towards transforming Lahore’s urban infrastructure.
The flyover a pivotal part of the Walton Road Upgradation Project was inaugurated by Khawaja Saad Rafique former Federal Minister for Aviation and Railways, alongside Imran Amin CEO CBD Punjab, Mian Naseer, former MPA and other key officials of CBD and contractor including Asif Iqbal Director Project Management, Waseem Siddiq Director Marketing, Sameer Aftab Sial Director Architect & Planning and Asif Babar Director Construction.
Completed Walton road upgradation project total cost of PKR 9.5 billion with PKR 1 billion allocated to the flyover the project reflects the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure for Lahore’s residents. The project features a three-way carriageway connecting Qainchi to Defence Mor and vice versa a robust drainage system and the successful relocation of the ADA Nallah. Now fully operational in both directions the flyover is expected to significantly alleviate traffic congestion, reduce travel times and enhance connectivity in the area.
Speaking at the ceremony CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin emphasized the CBD Punjab’s commitment to prioritizing public needs and driving urban development. He stated, The Walton Road Upgradation Project is a testament to CBD Punjab’s dedication to creating modern sustainable infrastructure that benefits the citizens of Lahore. Completing this project ahead of schedule underscores our efficiency and focus on improving the urban landscape.
Former Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique commended the timely completion of the project highlighting its significance in addressing Lahore’s traffic and urban challenges. He remarked, This project sets a new benchmark for infrastructure development in Pakistan. It will not only enhance connectivity but also improve the quality of life for residents paving the way for economic progress in Lahore.
