Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Ali Amin Gandapur, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). This is related to a vandalism case involving the Federal Judicial Complex.
Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra denied Gandapur’s request for bail, saying it cannot be granted without a good reason. During the hearing, Gandapur’s lawyer asked for “one more chance,” promising that the Chief Minister would appear in court. However, the judge pointed out that Gandapur had missed a previous court date that was set according to his availability.
The court has postponed the case hearing until October 3. Besides Gandapur, non-bailable arrest warrants were also issued for former Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party leader Aamer Mehmood Kiani, and PTI leader Raja Rashid Hafeez, all connected to the same vandalism case.
This incident happened on March 18, 2023, when PTI workers allegedly threw stones at authorities during a court hearing for former PTI leader Imran Khan at the Federal Judicial Complex.
