Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the international community needs to help Pakistan immediately, if the international community is late, a great tragedy may arise.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said during a special interview to Bloomberg that one third of the country has been submerged due to floods, millions of people have become homeless due to climate change, more than 1500 people have died due to floods, millions of acres of standing crops have been destroyed. 3 million children are expected to be affected by the pandemic.
He said that 30.3 million people have been affected by the flood, 1 million houses have been completely destroyed by the flood, according to the initial estimate, there has been a loss of 30 billion dollars.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says that we cannot face the disaster due to climate change alone, the international community is helping but it is insufficient as per the need, the world will have to stand with Pakistan.
He said that Pakistan has debt obligations in the next two months. The Secretary General of the United Nations saw the devastation of floods during his visit to Pakistan. The Secretary General of the United Nations said that he had never seen such a disaster in his life.
He further said that the US President is thankful for the statement regarding the flood victims in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said during the interview that we need more aid to rehabilitate the people, build infrastructure, I spoke to world leaders to support us in this difficulty.
He said that the prices of petroleum products have increased more than we expected, educational institutions, hospitals, government buildings, bridges and roads were all destroyed due to floods, at this time the country needs unity, reconciliation and peace.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that he asks his people to help the victims beyond politics at this time.
