Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced reduction in prices of petroleum products.
The Prime Minister made the announcement while addressing the nation directly, under which the new price of diesel will be Rs 236 per liter after a reduction of Rs 40.54 paise.
Similarly, with a reduction of Rs 18.50 per liter, the new price of petrol will be Rs 230.24 per liter. The new prices will apply from 12 noon tonight.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the previous government reduced the prices of oil for which there was no money in the treasury, this was done so that our government would be in trouble.
The Prime Minister said that when gas prices had come down in the world, the former government did not buy gas, I had promised the nation that I would never misrepresent to the people, we put a stone on the heart of oil prices. What was added?
Shahbaz Sharif said that when he took over the government a few months ago, we inherited a devastated economy. When he took over the government, inflation was at its peak in Pakistan. Oil prices were skyrocketing in the world. Agreed with the strictest terms.
The Prime Minister said that the previous government had broken the agreement, the previous government had laid landmines for us, the previous government had shown the worst and criminal negligence.
He said that it is the grace of Allah that today we have the opportunity to reduce the price of oil, we have the good fortune to convey every penny of the reduction in the price of oil to the people. Yes, God willing, this will be our last agreement with the IMF. Self-reliance is the only way to bring honor and dignity to the nations.
Shahbaz Sharif further said that after this agreement we should try to stand on our own feet, this path is not easy.
He said that Neelam Jhelum project took 20 years instead of seven years, Neelam Jhelum project cost 5 5 billion instead of one billion, 3 projects have to be worked day and night in next 14 months.
The Prime Minister said that major changes are to be made in the agriculture sector, information technology sector will be improved in one year, export based industry will be improved.
