Federal Finance Minister Muftah Ismail has challenged his former counterpart Shaukat Tareen to tell the nation the truth about subsidizing petrol.
In his statement, Muftah Ismail said that those who lied to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), how can they tell the truth? Absolutely not.
The Finance Minister said that Shaukat Tareen should tell the truth, tell the nation that he was against giving subsidy on petrol, Shaukat Tareen should not be ashamed, tell the nation the truth that Imran Khan had forced him.
Muftah Ismail said that an officer of the Prime Minister’s House had come to Shaukat Tareen with this order of Imran Khan.
He also asked Shaukat Tareen to tell which money was left for petrol subsidy and where? Shaukat Tareen had left no funding and had not made any such arrangement.
He said that a landmine had been laid for the PML-N government.
The Finance Minister said that PTI has left a primary deficit of Rs. 1300 billion, PTI has left a total deficit of Rs. 5600 billion.
