In his message to the nation, he said the Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) salutes the courage and commitment of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives to save the motherland, when Indian troops marched stealthily towards Pakistani soil but our brave sons of land thwarted every evil desire of the enemy, forcing the aggressors to take to their heels. the nation salutes the martyrs as well as their families for their fortitude as they set a great example of patriotism by sacrificing their loved ones for the defence of the country. We observe this day to commemorate the sacrifices of our armed forces and to pay homage to those who laid down their lives for ensuring a safe and secure future for coming generations.
