KARACHI- In the Holy Qur’an, Allah makes it clear that He created men and women as equal beings: He created you from a single being; then from that, He made its mate.”(39:7) The Qur’an commands in various places to treat women in a better way. March 8, On the occasion of International Women’s Day Ambassador at Large for Global Peace & Human Rights and Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony Imam Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui, Chairman, Interfaith Commission for Peace & Harmony (ICPH) said in address The role of interfaith women empowerment at local hotel Karachi that a woman can do all the work that a man can do if needed.
He said that Islam is a religion that gives all rights to women very generously. , Ambassador Allama Ahsan Siddiqui said that Islam is the only divine religion that not only encouraged the concept of women empowerment in every walk of life but also spelled out educational, moral, and spiritual guidelines for this purpose. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) enhanced the prestige and status of a mother by describing that paradise lay under her feet. The history of women’s rights in Islam is full of glorious traditions. The laws for women empowerment certainly exist but there is a dire need to translate them into reality.
First Lady of Islam Hazrat Khadija tul Kubra (RZ) was the role model of women empowerment. She was a top business women, chose to marry a man 15 years older, and as a mother, wife, coach, mentor changed the status of women in the society. Before Islam, women didn’t have freedom. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gave women their own place. Islam has empowered women with rights to individual independence that has liberated them from such gender-related complexes.
Islam is a religion in which women are given the most respect, love and rights. Islam provides women a position of honour and respect, with clearly stated rights & obligations. The Qur’an affords legal Protections in all areas including marriage, divorce & inheritance which mark a vast improvement over the situation of women in pre-Islamic society. Negative stereotypes regarding women in Islam arise not from Islamic teaching, those are from cultural practices, only belittle the rights and span of women, and also against teachings of Islam and Muhammad (saw).
We should know these things and put them into practice.
The Last Sermon of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) represents a complete charter of women rights. She said that women waged an exemplary struggle for the establishment of Pakistan by staying within the Islamic boundaries. She said that if women who constitute half of the overall population are kept out of the national mainstream, it will not be possible to achieve any development target.
Allama Ahsan Siddiqui said that giving women basic rights is one of the most important pillars of Islam. The one who brought her up has been declared deserving of Paradise. The right of inheritance has been fixed for the woman. She has been given the right of dowry. Quran repeatedly commands to treat women in a better way.
The woman was given the glad tidings of Paradise under her feet, but in spite of all these ranks and honors, she was not obliged to stay at home and forget her abilities but full freedom was given to her if Allah has endowed her with abilities, she can use these abilities for the betterment of herself and the society. A woman can get higher education and not only improve her family but can carry out the work of the nation and at the same time can work for the reform and development of the nation. We are inspired by the women’s movements leading the struggle for equality.
ICPH stands alongside you to advance a world where women and girls in all their diversity will thrive and take their rightful places as equals. we recognize the incredible contributions women make to our society. We are still a very long way from reaching gender equality.

It is time to finally fully harness the power of women’s leadership and potential, for a more equal, more inclusive and more sustainable future.
