Aman Shah Calls for Action Over Sharp Rise in LPG Prices

Aman Shah calls for action over rising LPG prices and alleged profiteering.
Syed Aman Shah, President of Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan, has expressed concern over a sharp increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices. He said the rise has added to the financial difficulties of households already struggling with inflation.
Shah alleged that unscrupulous LPG sellers had collected crores of rupees from consumers in just five days. He also criticised the relevant authorities for failing to take effective action against alleged overcharging and profiteering.
According to Shah, LPG prices have reportedly reached Rs600 to Rs650 per kilogram in some areas. He linked the rising demand for the fuel to changing weather conditions and colder temperatures, which increase household energy needs.
The price surge has placed additional pressure on low-income and middle-class families. Many households depend on LPG for cooking, particularly in areas where natural gas is unavailable.
Shah claimed that consumers were paying approximately Rs320 per kilogram above the applicable price. He described the increase as an additional burden on families already facing rising food prices, unemployment and other household expenses.

He urged the federal and Balochistan governments, district administrations and relevant regulatory authorities to take immediate notice of the reported increases. Shah called for strict enforcement of officially notified rates and action against sellers found charging unlawful prices.
To protect consumers, he stressed the need to ensure that LPG reaches households at officially prescribed rates. He also called on authorities to strengthen market inspections and enforce existing laws against profiteering.
“Public problems cannot be resolved through announcements alone,” Shah said. He emphasised that effective monitoring and practical measures are essential to provide meaningful relief to consumers.
The Provincial Spokesperson of Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan issued the statement.
