ISLAMABAD, October 20, 2026: The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA) hosted former diplomat Ambassador Masood Khan at its Thought Leadership Lecture Series. He attended as chief guest and keynote speaker.
Ambassador Khan, President of the Center for Law and Security, delivered a lecture titled “Leadership, Diplomacy, and Global Engagement in a Changing World.” He shared insights from his diplomatic career and discussed global changes, strategic leadership and Pakistan’s economic future.
Ambassador Masood Khan Highlights Ethical Leadership
Ambassador Khan highlighted the importance of service, humility, strategic vision and ethical governance. He cited the life and leadership of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a timeless example of these values.
He also discussed how diplomacy has evolved. Traditional government-to-government engagement now works alongside public diplomacy, digital communication and global citizen participation.
According to Ambassador Khan, digital connectivity and public advocacy increasingly influence international relations. He also highlighted the emergence of a multipolar world, with shifting economic centres and growing influence among middle powers.
Youth Urged to Shape Pakistan’s Economic Future
Ambassador Khan urged Pakistan’s youth to reject cynicism and develop confidence in their abilities. He encouraged young people to take greater responsibility for the country’s economic future as Pakistan approaches its centenary in 2047.
He pointed to Pakistan’s expanding digital landscape, widespread mobile connectivity and growing freelance workforce as important opportunities.
However, he stressed the need to strengthen the economy’s capacity to benefit from these advantages. He called for modernisation across key sectors and greater efforts to position Pakistan competitively in the global economy.
