Women entrepreneurs discuss trade challenges during a TDAP-led session in Sialkot.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), in collaboration with Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and the Sialkot Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry, held an interactive focus group discussion on August 28, 2026, as part of Phase II of the Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship Program.

The session brought together women exporters, traders and business owners from Sialkot to discuss the practical difficulties they encounter while conducting cross-border trade. Participants shared their experiences and offered feedback on export documentation, customs procedures and the use of digital trade platforms.

The discussion provided officials with direct insight into the challenges affecting women-led businesses in one of Pakistan’s major export hubs. Rather than relying solely on policy assumptions, the consultation focused on the day-to-day experiences of entrepreneurs dealing with trade processes.

The engagement reflects a joint effort by TDAP and PSW to develop a more efficient and digitally integrated trade environment while ensuring that reforms address the actual needs of women entrepreneurs.

Sialkot’s women business owners play an important role in the city’s export economy, and their feedback could help identify areas where documentation, customs and digital systems can be made easier to navigate.

The Phase II initiative aims to strengthen support for women entrepreneurs by identifying practical barriers and encouraging a trade ecosystem that is more accessible, responsive and supportive of women-led enterprises.
