Shehbaz Sharif renewed his invitation to opposition parties to begin dialogue on a Charter of Democracy and a Charter of Economy during the National Assembly budget session.

The prime minister said political disagreements should not prevent national progress. Moreover, he emphasized that all political stakeholders should work together on long-term governance and economic priorities. He added that constructive engagement remains possible and stated that it is not too late for talks.

Shehbaz Sharif Calls For Consensus

Addressing lawmakers, Shehbaz Sharif described opposition members as political counterparts rather than adversaries.

According to his remarks, he has repeatedly encouraged all parties to move toward broad national agreements. Furthermore, he said dialogue could help create stability and strengthen democratic institutions.

Referring to a recent speech by opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the prime minister stated that he had listened carefully and would respond in detail at an appropriate time.

Shehbaz Sharif Highlights Democratic Values

The prime minister stated that members of parliament represent citizens from all four provinces and deserve respect.

He noted that political diversity remains a natural part of democratic systems. At the same time, he stressed that national interest should remain above political differences.

According to Shehbaz Sharif, strengthening Pakistan is a shared responsibility. Therefore, all institutions and political groups should continue contributing toward stability and development.

NFC Distribution Remains Key Issue

Discussing provincial matters, the prime minister said financial allocations to provinces remain a constitutional right.

He stated that Balochistan’s share under National Finance Commission arrangements increased through collective agreement among provinces. Additionally, he said Punjab contributed significantly to the arrangement.

The prime minister also stated that agricultural farmers in Balochistan received solar panels worth billions of rupees as part of development initiatives.

Shehbaz Sharif Addresses Security Concerns

Turning to security matters, the prime minister referred to recent losses among military personnel, including officers and soldiers killed in a helicopter incident.

He stated that terrorism continues to present challenges in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Furthermore, he alleged that militant elements receive external support.

The prime minister also referred to ongoing infrastructure initiatives, including a major highway project in Balochistan involving large public investment.

National Unity Remains Central Message

Concluding his address, Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to security personnel and others killed during counterterrorism efforts.

He stated that their sacrifices help protect communities and support national stability. In addition, he urged unity and respect for those who lost their lives.

The prime minister reiterated that cooperation, fairness, and collective responsibility remain important for Pakistan’s long-term progress.
