LAHORE / SAHIWAL / FAISALABAD / BAHAWALPUR: At least nine suspects were killed and two police officials injured in a series of separate encounters with the Crime Control Department (CCD) across different cities of Punjab on Tuesday, according to police statements.

In Lahore, six suspects were reportedly killed in multiple operations conducted by CCD teams in different areas, including Sundar, Iqbal Town, and Defence Housing Authority (DHA). Police said two officers, Constables Tasawar and Namdar, were injured during an exchange of fire in Sundar when alleged robbers opened fire on a raiding team. The suspects, identified as Alam Sher and Hashim, were said to be wanted in dozens of criminal cases.

In another incident in Iqbal Town, police claimed that two suspects, Bilal alias Mota and Danish, were killed during an alleged ambush by their accomplices while they were being taken for recovery of looted items. Authorities further stated that in a separate checkpoint encounter in DHA, two more suspects were killed while another escaped.

In Sahiwal, police reported that two suspects, Nadeem and Allah Ditta, were killed in an exchange of fire near village 110/9-L during a search operation conducted after they allegedly escaped custody. Police said the suspects opened fire from a maize field, and their bodies were later recovered after a 30-minute encounter.

In Faisalabad, a suspected drug dealer identified as Farooq was killed during an exchange of fire near Chohala Mor, according to CCD officials. Police claimed he was involved in multiple serious crimes, including robbery and drug trafficking, while two of his accomplices escaped.

In Bahawalpur, another suspect, Fakhr Abbas alias Fakhri, was arrested in injured condition following an encounter near Ahmedpur East. Police said the suspects opened fire on a raid team before fleeing, while Abbas was later found wounded.

Authorities stated that separate cases have been registered and further investigations and raids are underway to arrest the fleeing suspects.

The incidents highlight an intensified crackdown by CCD units against organized crime and drug networks across Punjab, although details of multiple encounters remain under investigation.
