The conference brought together leading figures from academia, government, and the diplomatic community, including Vice Chancellor Dr. Seema Mughal, Sindh Higher Education Commission Director Academics Dr. Maimoona Shah, Chairman KVTC Senator Abul Haseeb Khan, NAVTTC Chairperson Ameena Gul Bilal, Mauritius High Commissioner H.E. Munsoo Kurrimbaccus, and Greenwich University’s Director DEI Eesha Ali.

Call for Structural Reforms

Addressing the event, speakers stressed that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential pillars for building fair and productive institutions. They emphasized that workplaces and educational systems must ensure equal access to opportunities, particularly for marginalized and underrepresented communities.

Participants warned that symbolic efforts alone would not be sufficient and called for deep structural and policy-level reforms to address long-standing inequalities in academia and employment sectors.

Focus on Inclusion and Social Justice

Panel discussions explored practical applications of DEI principles, including inclusion in local and global contexts, access to education and employment, and the importance of fostering belonging within diverse communities.

Experts highlighted issues related to minority rights, gender equality, human rights, interfaith harmony, and intergenerational justice, calling for sustained attention from policymakers and institutions.

Participation of Diplomats and Scholars

The conference was attended by diplomats, academics, practitioners, and students, reflecting growing interest in inclusive policy frameworks within Pakistan’s education sector.

On the sidelines of the event, Vice Chancellor Dr. Seema Mughal and Senator Abul Haseeb Khan signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening collaboration in education and training initiatives.

Mauritius Honorary Consul General Sohail Yasin Suleman also announced a donation of PKR 10 million to Greenwich University to support its academic and developmental programmes.

Conclusion

Speakers concluded that embedding DEI principles in institutional frameworks is critical for building equitable societies and ensuring that all individuals can contribute fully to national development.
