ISLAMABAD: The groundbreaking ceremony of Masjid-e-Fahad was held at Bahria University’s H-11 campus on April 15, 2026, marking a significant initiative aimed at promoting spiritual wellbeing and student welfare through philanthropic collaboration.

The ceremony was attended by Senior Vice President KATI, Mr. Zahid Hameed, alongside a distinguished gathering of business leaders, philanthropists, and senior officials. Vice Admiral Abid Hameed HI(M), Rector Bahria University, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Dr. Danish Aman, Chairman Pakistan Tanners Association (Southern Zone), attended as Guest of Honour on behalf of philanthropist Mr. Fahad Haq.
A prominent group of contributors also participated, including Mr. Taimur Siddique (Director, Shahi Group), Mr. Hussain Sajjad (Director, Telco Group), Commodore Shahab Qamar (COO, Trifit), Mr. Adnan Zahur (PTA Chairman Govt. Liaison), Mr. Moiz Shah (President, DRSWA), and Mr. Aamir Churra (Vice President, Chinot Association). The participants reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Bahria University’s development and student welfare initiatives, including endowment-based projects.
The Guest of Honour was acknowledged for his philanthropic vision and continued contributions to community welfare, which have enabled initiatives of social and spiritual significance.
The ceremony concluded with the laying of the foundation stone and a tree plantation drive jointly led by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and participating philanthropists. Prayers were offered for the country, Bahria University, and all those supporting the project. On the occasion, Mr. Zahid Hameed presented a KATI Shield to Vice Admiral Abid Hameed as a gesture of appreciation.
