BEIJING : A woman in Shantou, Guangdong province, China, allegedly threw millions of dollars in cash into the air from the balcony of her house after a heated argument with her husband. As soon as the notes flew into the air, chaos erupted among the people on the street to collect them, creating a scene resembling a riot. This shocking incident went viral on social media. According to eyewitnesses, the notes were in Hong Kong currency, with a total value of about 162,000 Hong Kong dollars. The administration later confirmed that the money thrown was genuine. Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene and appealed to the public to deposit the money at the nearest police station or property office. Police officials said that the matter has been taken under control and a comprehensive investigation is underway.
