Karachi: Ummah Welfare Trust Pakistan has distributed relief cheques worth Rs. 22.725 million among more than 600 deserving men and women under its Ramadan Iftar Project 2026, with each beneficiary receiving Rs. 37,500. In addition, Ramadan food packages were provided to 100 underprivileged families, while the distribution of ration packs to thousands of widows and needy households is continuing in phases across various regions.
According to a spokesperson, the Ramadan food package comprises essential items including flour, rice, cooking oil, sugar, pulses and other basic commodities, prepared to cover a family’s food requirements for the entire month. The relief operation is being carried out not only in Karachi but also in remote and underserved areas of Sindh and Baluchistan to ensure timely assistance to vulnerable communities during the holy month of Ramadan.

Vice Chairman Haji Abdul Razzaq Beli said the Trust is actively implementing a range of welfare initiatives, including financial assistance for widows, education support for orphaned children, healthcare aid, livelihood assistance, subsidized meal programs, welfare stores and seasonal Ramadan relief projects. He emphasized that the organization adheres to a 100 percent donation policy, ensuring that all Zakat, Sadaqat and charitable contributions are utilized directly for beneficiaries or designated welfare projects rather than administrative expenses.
He further urged philanthropists and donors to support the Trust’s humanitarian efforts during Ramadan, noting that collective contributions would enable the organization to extend financial and food assistance to a greater number of deserving families, allowing them to observe the holy month with dignity and ease.
