KARACHI: ILMA University, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission, successfully conducted a comprehensive three-day Review Committee Meeting focused on strengthening quality assurance systems and aligning institutional practices with national regulatory frameworks.
Day 1 – Inaugural Session
The inaugural session was graced by distinguished chief guests Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb, Commission Member HEC Islamabad, and Ms. Mehwish Faraz Lakhani, Chair Commission Member HEC Islamabad. The honorable guests formally inaugurated the event, appreciated the initiative undertaken jointly by ILMA University and HEC, and distributed commemorative shields among participants.
The session witnessed representation from 42 universities across Pakistan. Vice Chancellors, Directors of Quality Assurance, Deans, and Chairpersons of academic departments actively participated, reflecting a strong national commitment toward institutional quality enhancement.
Mr. Nasir Shah, DG Quality Assurance HEC, delivered a comprehensive address emphasizing the importance of compliance with the QA Framework PSG 2023 and the National Quality Framework. He highlighted the need for documentation integrity, performance evaluation mechanisms, and continuous institutional improvement.
The event was further honored by the presence of Mr. Faraz Abid Lakhani, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Karachi and President of ILMA University, along with Mr. Suleman, DG Regional Center HEC Karachi, whose participation underscored the strategic collaboration between regulatory authorities and higher education institutions.
Day 2 & Day 3 – Technical Sessions and Conclusion
The second and third days featured detailed technical and capacity-building sessions conducted by expert trainers including Dr. Waseem, Dr. Abaidullah Anwar, Muhammad Raza, Wajid Ali, and Dr. Bashir Khan. These sessions focused on practical implementation of quality assurance standards, internal audit mechanisms, compliance reporting, and institutional performance evaluation in accordance with HEC guidelines.
The meeting concluded with comprehensive closing remarks by Ms. Mehwish Lakhani, Mr. Nasir Shah and Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb, who appreciated the active engagement of participating institutions. Mr. Nasir Shah particularly commended ILMA University for its effective organization of the event and emphasized that such collaborative review and quality enhancement sessions should continue in the future to further strengthen Pakistan’s higher education sector.
The successful completion of this three-day Review Committee Meeting reflects the shared commitment of ILMA University and HEC toward transparency, accountability, and sustained academic excellence nationwide.
