Karachi (December 19, 2025) : Founder Chairman of Saylani Welfare International Trust, Maulana Muhammad Bashir Farooq Qadri, said that wealth does not decrease by spending in the way of Allah; rather, it increases manifold. He termed Zakat as the greatest insurance policy for both this world and the Hereafter for increasing one’s wealth. He stated that, with the support of philanthropists and the general public, Saylani carried out welfare work worth nearly Rs 15.75 billion last year.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held at the residence of renowned businessman and industrialist Zain Mondia. The event was hosted in honour of Rear Admiral Faisal Amin (Hilal-e-Imtiaz Military), Commander Coast, Pakistan Navy, and the Founder Chairman of Saylani.
The ceremony was also addressed by Javed Alam Odho, Additional IGP Sindh; Zain Mondia; Sahil Organization’s representative Danish Aman; Muhammad Ghazal, COO Saylani; Afzal Chamdia, Head of Saylani Education Board; and Arif Lakhani.
Among the participants were Dr Masood Bhutto, Deputy Commissioner Korangi; actor Ayub Khosa also present.
In his address, Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri elaborated on the importance of Zakat, Sadaqat, and donations in the light of the Qur’an and Hadith. He urged the participants to support Saylani in this noble cause, emphasizing that the organization follows a strict annual audit system and that no expenditure is made without the approval of Shariah advisors.
Additional IGP Sindh Javed Alam Odho said that he had witnessed Saylani’s work during the recent floods in Sindh and was deeply impressed. He remarked that Saylani has accomplished tasks that are, in fact, the responsibility of the government. While giving a brief overview of the law and order situation in Karachi, he stated that under the Safe City project, Karachi has been turned into a mini safe city. More than 30,000 cameras have been installed, and a 70 to 80 percent monitoring system has already been established through these cameras.
The host of the ceremony, Zain Mondia, said that Saylani is serving suffering humanity in 63 different sectors, and that Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri is undoubtedly waging a jihad against poverty.
COO Saylani Muhammad Ghazal gave a detailed briefing on the organization’s ongoing and future projects. He stated that Saylani’s IT program has attained the status of producing an “economic force” for the country. Youth from Balochistan and Thar are being trained as IT master trainers so they can, in turn, train other young people in their respective cities. He further shared that work is progressing rapidly on a state-of-the-art 12-storey children’s hospital near Hill Park in Karachi, with each floor dedicated to the treatment of a specific disease. Additionally, the country’s largest IT Park is being developed in Lahore.
He said these are just glimpses of Saylani’s services, which include projects worth billions of rupees. Currently, 20,000 families are being financially supported on a monthly basis; 500 to 750 underprivileged girls are assisted every month with financial and essential support for their marriages; 10,000 children are provided breakfast daily in schools located in underdeveloped areas; an average of 1.5 million patients receive treatment annually; and treatment facilities are being provided through agreements with 50 leading hospitals in the city.
Addressing the gathering, Afzal Chamdia highlighted the importance of IT and shared details of various educational and technological initiatives.
