KARACHI: Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, has said that Uzbekistan’s doors
are always open for Pakistani athletes and that his country welcomes sports cooperation. He assured
that Uzbekistan will encourage Pakistani companies interested in working jointly in the field of sports.
The Ambassador made these remarks during his meeting with Rais Khan, Chief Executive Officer of RK
Sports Management, at a local auditorium in Karachi. Albina Murtaza was also present on the occasion.
Rais Khan briefed the Ambassador about the activities of RK Sports Management, stating that the
organization has successfully conducted competitions in football, hockey, cricket, padel, squash,
marathon and boxing.
“Our objective is to support talented players. We are especially taking steps to highlight the abilities of
women athletes so that their talent can be presented to the world,” Rais Khan said. He further informed
the Ambassador that RK Sports Management has recently been granted membership of the European
Football Agents Association, terming it a great honour. “This step will provide Pakistani players easier
opportunities to play in Europe,” he added.
He said that Pakistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan have long-standing relations, and RK Sports
Management wants to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan in the sports sector. A delegation of RK
Sports Management will soon visit Uzbekistan to discuss arrangements for holding various sports
events.
Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev said that Pakistan enjoys a prominent position in the global sports arena
and has achieved success in numerous international competitions. He reiterated that Uzbekistan will
fully support Pakistani companies that wish to collaborate in the sports sector.
He added that Uzbekistan has relaxed visa requirements for Pakistani citizens, and direct flights between
Pakistan and Uzbekistan have already been launched. “By increasing cooperation in various fields, both
countries can achieve economic progress,” he said.
“Uzbekistan’s doors are always open for Pakistan. There are vast opportunities for Pakistani investors
and industrialists in our country,” the Ambassador concluded.
