Advani, extended warm greetings to the Hindu community on the occasion of Diwali, describing it as the Festival of Lights and a celebration of the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil.
Dr. Advani stated that Diwali holds great religious and cultural importance for the Hindu community. The festival commemorates several historic and spiritual events, including the return of Lord Ram to homeland after exile. On this auspicious day, members of the Hindu community light diyas, lamps, and candles, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and the victory of virtue over vice.
He further said that Diwali also marks the day when Lord Krishna liberated the people from the tyranny of King Kansa, reflecting the spirit of freedom, justice, and righteousness.
“Diwali is not merely a festival of light,” Dr. Advani emphasized, “it is also a festival of joy, happiness, and love. People share sweets, wear new clothes, visit each other’s homes to exchange greetings, and perform special prayers in temples and homes for peace, harmony, the well-being of humanity, and the stability of the country.”
He added that Diwali also signifies the arrival of the New Year and serves as a symbol of new beginnings filled with hope, light, and positivity.
