Karachi (Sports Reporter) — The “Ma’araka-e-Haq Azadi Sports Festival” in Naya Nazimabad delivered another day of high-energy competition as the Girls’ Category squash event reached an exciting finale. Rising star Damia Khan claimed the championship title after outclassing Vaishnavi Kishore in straight sets, 11-5 and 11-7, sealing her victory in just 20 minutes.
In the semifinals, Vaishnavi Kishore overcame Habiba Khan, while Damia powered past Aiman Naseem to book her place in the title clash.
The Men’s Category final saw Inas Dilshad lift the trophy with a decisive win over Naveed Rehman, while the Boys’ Category crown went to Adnan Zaman, who defeated Raheel Victor.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Arif Habib, Chairman of Naya Nazimabad, who met the athletes, applauded their performances, and handed out awards. In his address, he remarked, “Pakistan has defeated India on the battlefield, and we are proud of our armed forces. Now, we must prove our dominance in sports and every other field.”

Habib reiterated his commitment to fostering international-level sports in Pakistan, noting that Naya Nazimabad’s vision of becoming a Sports City had become a reality, with 18 sporting events happening simultaneously. He stressed the importance of upgrading sports infrastructure, coaching, and training facilities to raise Pakistan’s global sporting standards.
Also present at the occasion were Syed Muhammad Talha (President, Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana), Muhammad Asif (Sports Manager), Raheel Karim (Senior Manager), along with a large gathering of players, officials, and sports enthusiasts. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to the tournament’s standout performers.
