Karachi– A one-day Hostile Environment Awareness Training (H.E.A.T.) and self-defense session took place at the SSU Headquarters, aimed at equipping medical and paramedical students from the Cordoba Care Institute with essential skills needed for self-protection in hostile situations.

The training was organized by Adil Malik, Marketing Head at CCI Cordoba Care Institute, who is also a member of the Rotary Club Nexus and serves as the Media Director for the Basic Human Rights International Council of Pakistan. This workshop was conducted in collaboration with Ms. Maliha Javed, the Academics Head from Cordoba Care. The event focused on preparing students to effectively handle emergency scenarios while promoting awareness about potential threats.

During the session, participants engaged in a realistic mock exercise simulating a terrorist encounter, showcasing the tactical responses of SSU Commandos. This hands-on experience was complemented by practical demonstrations of martial arts and self-defense techniques to enhance students’ confidence in high-risk environments. Additionally, students had the opportunity to participate in shooting practice, further honing their preparedness for various situations.

DIG Sindh Police, Dr. Maqsood Ahmed, attended the event and addressed the students, emphasizing the growing need for such awareness programs. He stated that H.E.A.T. sessions and self-defense training are not only vital for security forces but also critically important for civilians, especially those in frontline roles within the healthcare sector. Dr. Ahmed commended the students for their enthusiasm and reaffirmed the Security and Emergency Services Division’s commitment to improving public safety through professional training and community engagement.

At the conclusion of the training, certificates were awarded to participants in recognition of their efforts. Adil Malik expressed his delight in receiving a shield from DIG Dr. Maqsood Ahmed and presented a souvenir to Mr. St Mustafa, the Governor Sindh Advisor, highlighting their invaluable support for the initiative.

This event marks a significant step in enhancing the preparedness of future medical professionals, ensuring they are equipped to navigate and respond to potential threats in their line of duty. The workshop was facilitated by Major Saleem, a renowned Combat Tactical Trainer, recognized as one of the best trainers in Pakistan at SSU.

Adil Malik recently got promotion From Rotary District 3271 and his
