Karachi – 24th June 2025: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) successfully held the 1st official meeting of the Central Standing Committee on Women Trade Development & Advocacy on Tuesday, 24th June 2025, at the FPCCI Head Office, Karachi. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Rizwana Shahid (Convener), along with Deputy Convener Ms. Syeda Raafia Hasan and Deputy Convener Ms. Huma Nasir.
The session opened with the Recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem, creating an atmosphere of dignity and patriotism.

• Opening Remarks:
Convener Ms. Rizwana Shahid welcomed all participants and presented the committee’s vision, emphasizing the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs through collaboration, policy advocacy, and strategic initiatives. She encouraged active participation and ownership among members to drive impactful outcomes.
• Committee Introductions:
Members introduced themselves and shared their professional journeys, establishing a foundation for future cooperation and synergy.
• International Standards & Product Development:
A discussion was held on aligning women-led businesses with global standards to enhance export readiness and competitiveness.
• Road Map & Mission:
The committee outlined its annual strategy focusing on trade facilitation, visibility, and empowerment of women in commerce.
• Trade Challenges & Feedback:
Members shared current challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and offered valuable recommendations to overcome them.
• Delegation to Gulf Region:
A proposal was presented to organize a delegation of women entrepreneurs to the Gulf region for participation in an upcoming international exhibition.
• July 2025 Action Plan:
Tentative plans were discussed for key activities, including networking events and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Conclusion:
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to uplift women in trade and foster inclusive economic development across Pakistan.
