KARACHI: Pakistan is expected to experience its first monsoon spell of the season beginning June 25, 2025, according to ARY News.

Deputy Director of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Anjum Nazir, stated that the rain spell will begin on Wednesday, June 25, and continue through July 2. He added that Karachi is currently under intense heat stress due to low atmospheric pressure over the Arabian Sea, with “feels like” temperatures reaching up to 50°C.

However, relief is on the way. Sea breezes are expected to resume by Wednesday evening, and from June 19, skies in Karachi are likely to remain cloudy with chances of light drizzle in the morning and evening.

Related: Karachi’s “feels like” temperature recently reached 46°C.

For now, most parts of the country will continue to face hot and dry weather over the next twelve hours. Still, isolated areas in North-East Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and South-East/Eastern Sindh may experience dust storms or light rain.

Morning temperatures in major cities:

  • Islamabad: 25°C
  • Lahore: 29°C
  • Karachi: 31°C
  • Peshawar: 26°C
  • Quetta: 22°C
  • Gilgit & Muzaffarabad: 20°C
  • Murree: 18°C

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy skies with chances of rain and thunderstorms are forecast for areas including Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula.
