KARACHI: UAE Consul General in Karachi, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al-Rumaithi, has expressed heartfelt appreciation for the people of Pakistan, reaffirming the strong bond between the two nations and announcing a more accessible and streamlined visa process for Pakistanis seeking to work, receive medical treatment, or visit the Emirates. “We have immense love and respect for the people of Pakistan,” said Al-Rumaithi while speaking to media representatives.
“Every Pakistani—regardless of status—can now apply for a UAE visa with ease. Whether for employment, medical needs, or personal visits, our doors are open.” He further stated that a “red carpet” welcome awaits those who arrive at the consulate for visa services. “Our full effort is to ensure their applications are processed swiftly. God willing, we are doing everything possible to serve Pakistanis with respect and efficiency,” he said. The Consul General encouraged the Pakistani public not to lose hope. “I appeal to the people of Pakistan—do not be disheartened. We stand with you.”
The event also marked the arrival of Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at the UAE Consulate, where he was warmly welcomed by UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi and Consul General Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Al-Rumaithi. The governor toured what has been described as Asia’s largest UAE visa center, inaugurated to better serve the Pakistani community. Governor Tessori praised the UAE’s proactive steps, noting, “The Consul General is not only a skilled diplomat but also someone who holds genuine love for Pakistan.” He acknowledged the concerns over past delays in visa issuance but expressed optimism about recent improvements. “I’ve raised the issue of visa difficulties with the UAE Ambassador in Islamabad several times. Today, I’m pleased to share that Pakistani traders and families can now receive UAE visas much more easily. In fact, a five-year visa is now possible, and in some cases, can be issued in just 20 to 25 minutes,” he added. Tessori also highlighted the VIP experience being offered at the consulate, stating that those arriving at the visa section are now welcomed with a red carpet—symbolizing the UAE’s deep respect and commitment to facilitating Pakistanis.
