The Government of Punjab has announced a 10-day Eid holiday for schools across the province, starting from March 28 and ending on April 6. The announcement was made by Secretary School Education Khalid Nazir Wattoo on Wednesday.
According to the secretary, schools will reopen on April 7, which will also mark the beginning of the new academic year. Additionally, he stated that annual exam results will be announced on April 4.
Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to fall on March 31 in Pakistan. The federal government has declared only three days of Eid holidays for government employees, but it remains to be seen whether other provinces, like Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will follow Punjab’s lead in granting extended holidays for schools and colleges.
It is also important to note that private educational institutions in Pakistan often set their own holiday schedules, which may differ from the government’s announcement.
