Karachi – February 19, 2025 – Representatives from 20 top U.S. universities met hundreds of students in Karachi at the EducationUSA South Asia Spring Tour University Fair, the first stop of a multi-city tour, which will also include stops in Lahore and Islamabad. University representatives provided insights on academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and application procedures, helping students explore higher education opportunities in the United States.





“Nearly 11,000 Pakistanis are currently studying in the United States,” said U.S. Consul General Scott Urbom. “The U.S. government is proud to support the South Asia Tour, starting here in Karachi, to help Pakistani students connect with world-class educational opportunities in the United States.”
According to the 2024 Open Doors Report by the Institute of International Education (IIE), Pakistan recorded an all-time high in student enrollment at U.S. institutions.
