Karachi : 41st National Elite Men and 5th National Elite Women Boxing Championship continued from 10th February to 15th February. The National Boxing Championship competition was held at KPT Sports Complex Karachi. Male and female boxers competed in different weight categories and the final matches were held between the qualified boxers.

The National Championship was organized by the Pakistan Boxing Federation with the support of the Pakistan Army in which international standards and rules were observed. More than 300 boxers including officials participated in the 41st National Elite Men and 5th National Elite Women Boxing Championship. Participating teams included teams from Pakistan Army, Navy, PAF, WAPDA, Railways, KPT, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, HEC and Pakistan Police. Overall, Pakistan Army won the first position in the male and female category. In male category gained 1st position, Pak Navy remained runners up while third position was obtained by WAPDA.

In the female category, the boxing team of Pakistan Army won the first position while the teams of Punjab and WAPDA stood second and third respectively. Corps Commander Karachi participated in the grand ceremony of the final matches as a chief guest. Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Muhammad Avais Dastgir distributed prizes among the victorious boxers and encouraged their courage and performance. Corps Commander Karachi said that it was a successful event through which Pakistani boxers will show the essence of their success at the international level.
