Sona Urea Zinc Coated Launch

Islamabad : Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited, a Pakistan’s leading fertilizer manufacturing and distributing company has extended its product portfolio by launching a new Enhanced Efficiency Fertilizer “Sona Urea Zinc Coated”, on February 03, 2025 (Monday). Senior Management of FFC was also present at the launch event.
Zinc is an essential micronutrient, which plays a vital role in crop growth & development and improves yield & produce quality. Research data reveals that zinc is widely deficient in soils of Pakistan. Therefore, Zinc use in crops is necessary. Research trials indicate that use of Zinc can enhance crop yield by 6-20%. Zinc fortification in human food is also very important as Zinc plays vital roles in human health.
Urea is widely used fertilizer in Pakistan and is very popular among the farming community as it provides the highest nitrogen content than any other nitrogenous fertilizer.
Sona Urea Zinc Coated has 42% Nitrogen and 1% Zinc. This unique formulation ensures uniform distribution of Zinc in soil and enhances its efficiency owing to better availability.
Moreover, Zinc – Nitrogen synergy also improves efficiency & availability of Nitrogen and Zinc. For coating purpose, water soluble Zinc Sulfate is used in manufacturing process of Sona Urea Zinc Coated, and thus the Zinc becomes instantly available and doesn’t require any further activation. Zinc coating on urea also provides additional benefits of prolonged availability and minimal losses of Nitrogen.

It improves efficiency of Zinc & Nitrogen and protects environment through minimizing nitrogen losses. Field trials on different
crops revealed significant increase in crop yield over standard Urea.
He explained that being part of every granule of Sona Urea Zinc Coated, Zinc will be distributed uniformly in the field, which will enhance Zinc availability & improve its efficiency and ultimately the crop yield.
