Karachi: Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has established a media studio at the 100-year-old NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi, Pakistan. This studio, set up in collaboration with NED University, will facilitate online remote education and offer diploma programs in various media-related fields. The studio has been named as Pak-Türkiye Media Centre and was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by numerous guests.
In his speech at the inauguration ceremony, Department Head Dursun Ali Yaiacan mentioned that TIKA, similar to its efforts in many countries worldwide, has been carrying out media projects in Pakistan as well. He noted the recent inauguration of media projects in Islamabad and expressed his happiness in providing a modern studio that will serve many purposes at Pakistan’s historic university.
Turkish Consul General Cemal Sangu emphasized the deep historical ties of friendship between Türkiye and Pakistan and expressed his belief that the Pak-Türkiye Media Centre, established by TIKA, would further enhance and solidify this friendship.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi highlighted their long-held dream of having a studio for online and remote education, thanking TIKA profoundly for making this dream a reality.
Following the speeches, the Pak-Türkiye Media Centre was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first live broadcast guests of the studio included Department Head Yaiacan, Consul General Sangu, Vice-Chancellor Lodhi, Pro Vice-Chancellor Muhammad Tufail, and TIKA Karachi Coordinator Halil Ibrahim Ba?aran.
The Pak-Türkiye Media Centre will not only facilitate remote and online education but will also host diploma programs in various fields, from studio equipment usage to film production.
TIKA’s Media Projects in Pakistan
Since its inception, TIKA has undertaken numerous media projects in Pakistan, including providing training to media professionals, supplying media equipment to the Türkiye-Urdu News Service, establishing a museum at Radio Pakistan, setting up a conference hall at the National Press Club, and most recently, establishing the Pak-Türkiye Media Centre.
