CRACKE DOWN AGAINST SUB-STANDARDS / ILLEGAL MANUFACTURING

KARACHI : As per directives of Director General, Pakistan Standards and Quality Control
Authority Mr. Taufiq Ali Abbasi and Director (Conformity Assessment – South), PSQCA team
along with Mobile Testing Lab visited a Super Market in Federal B Area, Karachi.
During the surveillance activity, inspectors of the Authority collected 02 samples of Banaspati
& 04 samples of Edible Oils. The samples were tested on the spot and one (01) brand of

Cooking oil were found non-conforming against relevant PSS. Non-Conforming brand were de-
shelved and seized. Notice was issued to the Manufacturers for recall of their product from

market. During the activity, CA – Karachi team found 16 different Illegal / Non-Licencee products,
which were removed from shelves and seized. Notices were issued to the manufacturers for
compliance. All Stocks of Non Conformed & Illegal/Non-Licencee Products were de-shelved & seized.
Further actions will also be initiated as per law.
