Karachi, Pakistan – Shariq Jamal, Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), participated as the chief guest at a workshop organized by the Women Media Center (WMC) in Karachi. During his speech, he emphasized that politics is the only means through which one can earn a place in paradise. However, he cautioned that a single false report can ruin a politician’s career.
Jamal stressed that following personalities blindly will not bring about revolutions. “We spent 35 years following one personality, yet no revolution came,” he remarked, reflecting on his political journey.
Responding to a question, the MQM MPA pointed out that social media has played a significant role in the current state of the country. Discussing the rise of artificial intelligence, Jamal warned that an AI-generated fake video could tarnish anyone’s character and reputation.
The ten-day workshop, titled “Artificial Intelligence in the News Media: Threats and Advantages,” is being attended by students from various universities in Karachi. The program aims to provide female journalists and media students with essential training and field opportunities. The workshop will continue until October 24th, offering a platform for women in media to enhance their skills and professional prospects.
The Women Media Center remains committed to empowering women in journalism by organizing such impactful and relevant training programs.
