Karachi : In a vibrant demonstration of inter-faith harmony, various religious communities came
together to celebrate Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (S.A.W.W), emphasizing the indispensable role of unity in
fostering peace and stability for the country’s progress. The event saw active participation from
leaders of different faiths, who expressed their joy in collectively honoring the birth of the Prophet
Muhammad (S.A.W.W).
Nazia Adalat, a renowned advocate for inter-faith harmony and a prominent social worker,
highlighted the importance of religious tolerance. “Inter-faith harmony is essential for the country,”
she said. “It will pave the way for peace and stability, which is key to the nation’s development.”
Sister Fathizah Inayat, General Secretary of the FMCK and head of Darulsakoon Old Age Home,
expressed her happiness in being part of the celebration. “It is an honor that we are all celebrating
the birth of Prophet Akhlar Zaman Khatim-un-Nabiyyen (S.A.W.W) together,” she shared,
emphasizing the importance of unity in such events.
Sardar Anil Singh, General Secretary of the Pakistan Sikh Welfare Association, pointed out that Baba
Guru Nanak was also a proponent of inter-faith harmony, adding a historical perspective to the
gathering.
Prominent educationist Sajjad Hussain praised the spirit of togetherness, saying, “It is the fortune of
our region that people from all religions are united in welcoming the lovers of the Prophet
(S.A.W.W)”
Other notable figures, including Director Catholic Commission for Inter-Religious Dialogue and
Ecumenism of the Archdiocese of Karachi, Reverend father Shakeel Gulzar, Director of The Hub of
Girls Academy Symbol, and social leaders such as Tariq Khan, Sister Saima Rashid, Sister Maria
Monica, and Sister Shamshad, also shared their thoughts, stressing the importance of inter-religious
understanding and cooperation.
The event concluded with a grand procession, during which participants were showered with flowers
as the entire area echoed with slogans welcoming the government’s commitment to fostering
religious unity.
This display of inter-faith solidarity serves as a reminder of the power of unity in diversity and the
essential role it plays in the development of the nation.
