Karachi: On August 31, representatives of Russian Center for Science and Culture took part in the cross-cultural handicrafts exhibition “Handicrafts of Sindh”, organized by the Karachi Council on International Relations.

The heads of the Center – Ruslan Prokhorov, Natalia Zhanovets and Fariha Aqib – brought real Russian fervor and flavor to the event. The pavilion of the Russian Center received special attention from the guests and was the main attraction for all. The participants enthusiastically examined traditional Russian toys, tried on national clothes, and played musical instruments. The teachers of the Ural State Pedagogical University Russia, Roman Porozov and Anton Dolgov, who arrived at the Russian Center to conduct two-month course of the Russian language, helped the visitors to understand the traditions more deeply. Mikhail, the education assistant at the Russian Center also gave elaborative highlights of the people and culture and splendor of the Russian Federation.

Especially important, for the Russian delegation, was the attention given to the pavilion by the honorable guests. Sindh Minister of Labour and Human Resources Saeed Ghani opened the event and expressed his interest for the Russian culture. Among the showcasing of the many traditions the main exhibitions were of the Sindhi culture, Russian culture, Iranian Culture, Pakistani culture and especially the culture of the province of Sindh. Cultural dialogue with the staff of the Consulates General of Japan, Iran, Turkey, Bangladesh and the United States has become equally valuable for Russian Center. And, of course, the brightest emotions were aroused by the achievements of the artisans of Pakistan. Each of the countries demonstrated the originality of art and dedication for their own craft and traditions.

The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Karachi expresses its gratitude to the Karachi Council on developing Foreign Relations and for the opportunity to become a part of such an important event.
