Islamabad, June: Subsequently, the Lahore High Court has ordered the Prime Minister’s office and all civil and military agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau and Inter-Service Intelligence to strictly refrain from communicating or approaching any judge or his/her staff. This directive came after an anti-terrorism court judge in Sargodha complained of being harassed after turning down a meeting with an intelligence agency.
Justice Shahid Karim underlined that no agency should interfere with Legal proceedings and directed the Punjab Police to ensure adequate security for ATCs. According to the judge complaint, there were other harassment cases against his family members. Similar apprehensions have been made in the past, leading judicial bodies to call on the government for intervention.
