New Jersey: Dr. Assad Mujtaba, the Republican nominee, garnered 12,164 votes in the Passaic County, New Jersey primaries, marking the highest number of votes among candidates of Arab or Muslim descent. Despite running unopposed, the significant Republican turnout highlighted strong party support, particularly influenced by allegiance to former President Trump. In contrast, the Democratic primaries saw Mayor Khairullah, a Palestinian American, receive 4,708 votes for the U.S. Congress nomination, and Turkish American Derya Taskin secure 7,647 votes for the Commissioner’s slot, with both candidates ultimately losing their respective races.
The GOP Clifton and ‘Elect Dr. Assad Mujtaba team’ met at Dr. Mujtaba’s residence to review the political strategy for the general elections.
President Trump, Governor’s candidate Jack Ciatarelli, and major leaders of the GOP will be addressing a reception at Dr. Mujtaba’s residence in September to rally for GOP nominees.
