Karachi: Today’s Grade 9 matric exams in Karachi have been clouded by allegations of a leaked Computer Science paper, stirring anxiety among students and authorities alike. Reports surfaced indicating that the paper had made its way onto social media platforms, prompting the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) into action.
A spokesperson for the BSEK stated that investigations are underway to determine the authenticity of the leaked paper. The uncertainty surrounding the situation has cast a shadow over the commencement of the exams, leading to heightened vigilance from exam authorities.
In response to the situation, the BSEK chairman issued a stern warning against students bringing mobile phones into examination halls, emphasizing strict consequences for violations, including confiscation of devices.
The exams are being conducted in two shifts, with science group papers in the morning and general group papers in the second shift. This division aims to ensure a smooth examination process for all students.
This year, BSEK introduced online admit cards to provide easier access to essential examination information. Students who submitted their forms online can conveniently print their admit cards, streamlining the examination experience.
For those who missed the initial deadline for exam form submission, there is still an opportunity to do so until May 10, albeit with a late fee of Rs3,500. The BSEK spokesperson assured that examinations missed during this period will be rescheduled to prevent any student from being disadvantaged.
Amidst ongoing investigations, BSEK remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining the integrity and fairness of the examination process, ensuring that students’ academic pursuits are safeguarded against irregularities or malpractices.
