35,000 Trees to Be Planted on Shahrah-e-Bhutto in Major Karachi Green Initiative
Tree plantation has taken centre stage in Karachi as Community Policing Karachi (CPK), Rotary International District 3271 and the Sindh Forest Department launched a joint project to plant 35,000 trees along Shahrah-e-Bhutto.

KARACHI: The three organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to begin the large-scale plantation project.
The initiative will also honour the sacrifices of Sindh Police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Under the project, organisers will plant 2,628 trees in memory of 2,628 Sindh Police martyrs.
A tribute to Sindh Police martyrs
The initiative brings together two important objectives.
First, it aims to make Karachi greener and improve its urban environment. At the same time, it will preserve the memory of police personnel who sacrificed their lives to protect the public.
Organisers said the trees would serve as living memorials to the martyrs.
They said future generations would remember their courage, dedication and sacrifices through this initiative.

Senior officials attend ceremony
Inspector General of Sindh Police Javed Alam Odho attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
Additional Inspector General Karachi Azad Khan joined the event as the guest of honour.
DIG East Dr Farrukh and SSP Korangi Fida Jamali also attended the ceremony, along with other senior police officials.
Representatives from CPK, Rotary International District 3271 and the Sindh Forest Department also participated in the event.
Other representatives and distinguished guests attended the ceremony as well.
Commitment to a greener Karachi
Speakers said they would not limit tree plantation to a short-term campaign.
Instead, they pledged to expand collective efforts to make Karachi greener, cleaner and safer.
The organisations also stressed the importance of cooperation between public institutions, community groups and environmental organisations.
The project represents a significant step towards improving Karachi’s green spaces.
