WAH, Pakistan — Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), visited Pakistan’s largest defence industrial complex, Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), in Wah.

During the visit, the Field Marshal received detailed briefings on POF’s operations and its contribution to Pakistan’s national defence.

Officials highlighted the organisation’s role in the indigenous development and production of a wide range of military equipment.

Asim Munir also witnessed tests and trials involving locally designed and manufactured arms and ammunition.

The demonstrations highlighted POF’s efforts to expand indigenous production and strengthen technological capabilities.

Focus on indigenous defence production

The visit underlined the military’s focus on self-reliance and innovation in Pakistan’s defence sector.

The Field Marshal also received an update on the corporatisation process following the enactment of the DIPRA Ordinance.

In addition, officials discussed progress on indigenisation and industrial upgradation projects.

POF is installing two new industrial plants as part of these efforts.

According to the briefing, the new plants are expected to begin production by the end of the current year.

The projects aim to further strengthen local manufacturing capacity and support Pakistan’s wider defence production requirements.
