Karachi: The newly elected District Governor of Rotary International District 3271 Muhammad Hanif Khan took charge of the post on Monday. Later, he visited Mazar-e-Quaid and laid wreaths and also recorded his comments in the visitors’ feedback book.
On this occasion, First Lady, District Secretary Muhammad Asif Makati, Past Secretary Raza Tabish Farooqui, District Trainer Rear Admiral (R) Tanveer Ahmed, Deputy Governor Sheikh Imtiaz Hussain, Syed Turab Shah, Ali Azmat, PDG Dr. Aftab Imam, Deputy Governor Zubair Baweja, Past Deputy Governor Durdaana Arshad, Lubna Khalid, Rahim, Lubna Panjwani, Syed Kashif Rafi, Nouman Safdar while RCK Nexus IPP Muhammad Ali Haider, Aslam Khaliq, Rotarian, and Rotaract members attended Mazar-e-Quaid.
The school children paid homage to the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah by hoisting the flag of Pakistan, the participants visited different parts of the shrine and inspected the items used by Quaid-e-Azam kept in the museum.
Speaking on this occasion, the elected District Governor Muhammad Hanif Khan said that on June 30, the term of former Governor Syed Tehzeeb Kazmi was completed, after which I took charge of the post on July 1. He said that we should hold Pakistan’s head high and for success, a lot of efforts have to be made to rid the country of poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, and health problems as well as the energy crisis.
He said that Rotary International is trying to eliminate polio, thalassemia, and other deadly diseases from the country, all of which Rotarians organize free medical camps and blood donation camps to provide the best health facilities to poor people.
Muhammad Hanif Khan said that Pakistan has to adapt to the requirements of the 21st century so that development and prosperity come to the country and Pakistan’s development and prosperity become an example for the whole world.
He said that Rotary International is creating more and more Rotary Clubs to achieve its goals so that more charitable works can be done together and efforts should be made to solve the basic problems faced by the people, especially in rural areas.
District Trainer Rear Admiral (R) Tanveer Ahmed said that Rotary International is providing tube wells, water filter plants, and solar energy in these rural areas to provide clean drinking water to the people. So that their standard of living is high while also assisting in establishing cattle farms for agriculture and breeding of livestock.
On this occasion, congratulated all Interact, Rotaract, and Rotarian newly elected governors and informed them about the new project of Rotary International District 3271.
