IOWA : According to a new study, a Chinese artificial intelligence system has solved a problem posed by an American mathematician a decade ago. This algebra question was first posed in 2014 by University of Iowa professor Dan Anderson (who died in 2022). A team from Peking University created an AI system that reviewed decades of mathematical literature to solve Anderson’s conundrum and verify its results without human intervention. According to the scientists, this AI system can solve mathematical problems faster than any human, including independently performing tasks that usually require the collaboration of experts from different fields.
