Former Vice President of FPCCI Atif Ikram Sheikh on Sunday said terrorism is resurfacing in the country which should be eradicated as it poses a serious threat to the economy.
The terrorism restarted soon after the political and economic situation worsened which is pointing towards hostile nations, he said.
Atif Ikram Sheikh who has also served as Chairman PVMA said that authorities should take action against miscreants to crush them.
Elimination of terrorism should be the first priority so as to reduce the threats to the people, economy and image of the country.
The business leader said that all the peace agreements made with terrorists have failed therefore instead of negotiations, an action should be launched.
A new strategy should be adopted to defeat the terrorists because in the past despite the heavy loss of lives and money this disease has not been cured and terrorism resurfaces after some time.
He lauded the resolve of the National Security Committee (NSC) to respond to terrorists with full force to those who challenge the country.
Pakistan’s national interests should not be compromised and no one would be allowed to harm the country’s national security, the basic interests of Pakistan’s survival, security, and development should be protected with great courage, consistency, and steadfastness.
He also paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs against terrorism, expressed sympathy and condolence to their families, and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.
Atif Ikram Sheikh said that terrorists are enemies of Pakistan; the entire nation is united on this issue.
